Fiction

Our fiction guidelines

Inherent to every story is a tapestry of life - inherent to every  short fiction is a thread.

We like hard hitting, interesting, but most of all, moving and strongly motivating fiction that bites the edge of people’s conciousness and makes them pay attention.

We WANT stories that are only partially resolved - that can be revisited - in fact, once a month we’ll be adding to our own serial, with guest writers included.  We WANT stories that have our readers demanding that we come to you for more - and we want stories with strong tapestries - even if you’re only showing us one thread.

All fiction should be between 500 - 1000  (flash) 1500 - 5000 (fiction) words in length.  We don’t have any specific genre considerations, but we do reserve the right to either request edits (to make items shorter) or to categorise them as we see fit.

Send all emails in the first instance (including any questions) to fiction@digitalisobscura.com
