Do you Commit these Common Web Hosting Mistakes?

Making mistakes is not a bad thing as this is part and parcel of one’s learning experience. But it is less painful, cheaper and faster to learn from other people’s mistakes than to learn from your own mistakes. There are two kinds of mistakes in web hosting and website design – technical and business.

The technical mistake is in putting the content of the website. For example, the website may be cluttered with too much information, or the navigations is not friendly enough for the readers to find the information readily, or the images are too huge and it takes longer to load them.

If the webpages are not optimised, the seach engines are not able to know what is the theme of the site and hence unable to give it a good ranking in the search result.

The business mistake is choosing a web hosting vendor solely on the price factor. There is a wise saying that you get what you pay for. For a start, when your website is small and you are just testing the market, it ok to get a cheap domain and hosting service. However as your website traffic increase and your online business grow, you must be able to scale your hosting. Find a  hosting service that has the capability to support your growth.

Another common business mistake is to create a website that try to please every readers by adding too much information. Be clear about who your target readers are.   Another mistake is to copy the competitors’ websites and it looks like a clone.

Strive to be unique by injecting your creativity and personality in your website.

Completely agree with the mistakes which you have mentioned above. These are the most common mistakes which people make while choosing web host for their website.

We can’t deny that a web host is the backbone of every successful website. So we should always take care of it. Little mistake may leads huge loss.

Most of the beginners think that If a web host is giving FREE Web Hosting to them then they would be the right web host for them which isn’t right. It is a fact that nothing comes FREE in this world so people should understand it and should always choose the web host wisely.

I am glad that you have listed the major mistakes which will help us to avoid them when we will purchase web hosting.

Thanks for sharing such a nice article. 😀

Firstly thanks for your superb post.

My problem is confusion between two hosts. I want to host my two domains and finding a multiple domain hosting service so that i can host my both of the domains and also can able to host my upcoming domains in future . I can’t understand which company i select. After lots of wandering over the internet and people’s suggestions i’m confused over Hostgator and Bluehost.

Both of the sites are claiming that they will give me unlimited domain hosting, unlimited bandwidth and unlimited space. But after reading your post i get to know that there is no unlimited like thing in hosting field but as there services looks reasonable and after talking to their customer representatives , i think to give a try to there services

Sometime i think as hostgator has indian customer support service and also they have toll free no,, they are better than bluehost which has only us based customer support office and also their customer support is not as responsive as hostgator. but my friend told me that hostgator is not good for their services.

Is his saying true?

One more problem is that as i’m beginner in the field of web development i’m thinking of a website builder coming with most of the hosting providers. but when i talk to hostgator customer representative they said they haven’t any kind of host builder… but when called them the next day an another representative of hostgator told me that they do have a website builder. i’m totally confused by their two faces words, sometimes “yes” and sometimes “no”.

It will be better if you’ll tell me the real fact of hostgator that do they have website builder or not..

and want a final conclusion from your side. What do you think which provider is good for me?
