About

Digitalis Obscura - or the sunset foxglove, is a member of the family of flowers that is used as the basis for heart medicines - Digitalin being one of the most common names for it.

Digitalis Obscura is a project that I’m founding to keep my hand in editing whilst at University - its one of only ten projects that I’m running in the three years of my course (which is quite a step down for me!).

We’re not here to accept the ’same old same old’ - we’re looking for emotive, engaging and above all memorable writing.

Each department is headed up by an editor - and we all share duty on the busy areas.

The flight of the Red Kite - Phil Richardson

It was midday, but feeling tired and somewhat upset about the condition of the world, I was reading in my bedroom when, for some reason, I looked out the window and saw a large red kite drifting by. Not so strange in itself, but, instead of various ribbons dangling from the kite’s tail, there [...]

Welcome our new staff….

I’d like to welcome our new senior editors, Joyce Anthony and Sharon Wren.
I’ve worked with both of them in the past, and they are both amazing, wonderful, intelligent writers, so I’m honored to work with them.
I met both in a writers group several years ago - Sharon and I both work together at Scribe and [...]
